We took a 3 hour bus from Saigon to Mui Ne which is a small town on the coast. This was to be our last destination before reaching Melbourne so we thought we'd relax by the beach a little and enjoy learning how to Kite Board.
This was our amazingly talented kite boarding crew who taught us the first things we needed to know to get up on the board
Each day we took out a 5, 9 or 12 meter kite depending on how windy it was.The kites are immensely powerful our instructor Alex described flying one like pulling the tail of a tiger.
You get the kite airborne and then use its power to pull you (called body dragging) out to sea and then pull you up on your board and then pull you along the surface of the water. (that's the aim anyway!)
And that's Rach heading out with the kite
On a day with no wind we had a break from kite boarding and Paddy drove us on a little scooter out to some nearby sanddunes
Mui Ne is a great spot for fishing. The locals go out in what can only be described as round bath tubs to fish
